Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain effective intra/inter departmental communications. Establish, monitor, and sustain
active communications between all levels of plant personnel to assure a positive work
environment.
• Analyze department capacity restrictions and develop alternative plans to improve methods and
layouts, as well as recommend new equipment expenditures to align capacity with plant
objectives.
• Implement process improvement, cost reduction and quality improvement processes in
conjunction with the TYM Quality Management System
• Maintain departmental tooling and equipment, including the provision of new/replacement
hand tools etc. Ensure hardware and tooling inventories are monitored.
• Communicate and enforce product quality standards and reviewed team/individual quality
performance through the analysis of relevant data and metrics.
• Provide on-going mentoring, coaching and development of direct reports to instill a teamfocused and quality culture within the department.
• Maintain a positive commitment to the safety of self and others.
o Identify and report any hazard(s) in the workplace using the Hazard Identification Form;
reporting any near misses, incidents, injuries, events resulting in lost-time, or
occupational diseases immediately; using equipment, materials, and machinery only as
authorized, and for which training has been successfully completed; following
procedures and wearing personal protective equipment as required
• Act as a positive role model and support change actively participating in the implementation of
the (Lean Six Sigma) tools, providing guidance and/or mentoring to less experienced co-workers
• Participate in the Cost Improvement Program looking for, discussing, and recommending better
ways to do things
• Meet daily production targets maintaining production flow, recording jobs completed and
reporting issues preventing compliance
• Monitor and check In Process Check List, Action List, 5S and Gemba walk
• Approve weekly time and PTO requests for associates
